Slovenia's motorway and road network
Slovenia's motorway system, managed by DARS, spans roughly 620 km and forms a compact cross spanning the country: the A1 links the Port of Koper with Ljubljana, Maribor and the Austrian border (Šentilj), while the A2 connects the Karawanks tunnel (Austria) to the Croatian border. Slovenia sits on Pan-European Corridors V and X, giving fast road access to Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. Note that heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 t face driving bans on Sundays and public holidays (typically 08:00–21:00) and on selected summer Saturdays; we plan routes and timing around these limitations.
Rail freight in Slovenia
Slovenian Railways (Slovenske železnice) operates the national rail network, with the electrified Koper–Divača–Ljubljana line as the key freight artery from the port inland. A new second track between Koper and Divača is dramatically increasing capacity for container and bulk trains. We arrange block trains and single-wagon services connecting the Port of Koper with terminals in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany.

For time-critical shipments we use the Aircargo Center Ljubljana at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, operated by Fraport Slovenija. It handles freighter and belly-hold cargo, road feeder services (RFS), dangerous goods, live animals and valuables, with X-ray screening, a bonded customs warehouse and simplified customs procedures — working with carriers such as Lufthansa, Air France, Cargolux and Turkish Airlines.

It covers 288 ha with a 3,475 m quayside, up to 18 m sea depth, 532,000 m² of closed warehouses, 117 ha of open storage and 38 km of internal rail tracks — with container, car, general-cargo and liquid terminals all directly rail-connected to the European hinterland.
