T1 transit from Koper with Zoll Pool Hamburg guarantees
A T1 transit lets non-EU goods leave the Port of Koper under customs seal, with duty and VAT suspended, and be cleared at a customs office in the destination country. Europacific is a shareholder in Zoll Pool Hafen Hamburg AG and issues T1 transit documents from Koper on Zoll Pool guarantees, usually the same working day, so you do not need your own guarantee.
When to use T1 transit from Koper
- You want customs clearance in your own country, such as Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia or Germany, through your usual broker.
- The destination is outside the EU but in the common transit area, for example Serbia, North Macedonia or Switzerland.
- Goods go to a bonded warehouse or another customs procedure at destination.
How T1 transit from Koper works
- You send the destination customs office, consignee, invoice, packing list and truck details.
- Europacific lodges the T1 transit declaration in NCTS with a Zoll Pool Hamburg guarantee.
- Customs releases the transit, and the Transit Accompanying Document (with MRN) travels with the truck.
- The goods travel sealed to the office of destination within the set time limit.
- The goods are presented at destination, the transit is closed, and import clearance takes place there.

T1 vs procedure 42
With T1, duty and VAT are paid at destination. With procedure 42, duty is paid in Slovenia and VAT is reverse-charged at destination. If your broker or customs authorisations are in the destination country, T1 is usually simpler. If you want EU goods delivered with no further formalities, choose 42.
Responsibilities during transit
The goods must reach the office of destination unchanged, with intact seals and within the time limit. Delays, seal breaks or route problems must be reported to customs. We brief carriers on these rules for every T1.
